About LeeLee

Torre Del Greco, Naples

I was born in Torre Del Greco, Naples, Italy.

I may have been given the name Lisa but family members call me Lee Lee. And, it’s the name I actually prefer. I’m a daughter, wife, mother, journalist, cancer survivor, and die hard Bruce Springsteen fan. I was born in Torre del Greco, Naples, Italy.  Yes, I can speak the Neapolitan dialect! I was raised in Fort Lee, New Jersey under the strong influence of old school Italian values.  Everything revolves around food. But more importantly, it’s all about family, respect, and loyalty. That’s  just one piece of my complicated puzzle.

Another piece is the fact that I’m a wannabe performer.  I love lights, camera, action, the spotlight, and the stage.  At the age of 3, my mom put tap and ballet shoes on me.  This kicked off my love affair with the arts. I still own tap shoes and take a class every once in a while…it’s a great workout by the way.

My ambition has always been to be an author.

It’s no surprise I chose a career in the entertainment industry.  After graduating from New York University’s School of Broadcast Journalism, I spent nearly 20 years writing and producing everything from news and documentaries to sales and marketing productions.

My ambition and desire has always been to write.  I’m channeling my idol, the late Nora Ephron.  Nora is my goddess! I can only dream of being half the writer that Nora was…what an incredible talent!

My real passion is the love I share and have for my children, husband, parents, and grandmother.  They complete the complicated puzzle and make life worth living.

Italian Born, Jersey Raised, and Bruce Obsessed!

Some fun facts: I’m obsessed with handbags…CHANEL in particular…. New York City is my favorite place in the entire world…I love to travel…I’m a huge sports fan…football is my favorite sport to watch…I love to dance…I’m a Masterpiece Theatre fan…I’ll never turn down a ticket to a Broadway show, I think Jimmy Fallon is way too funny (LOVE him), my favorite actors are Al Pacino, Jack Nicholson, Tom Cruise, Michael Douglas, Clint Eastwood, Meryl Streep, & Catherine Zeta Jones…I have a celebrity crush on Jim Caviezel and Matthew McConaughey…I’d like to learn how to play the piano, guitar, and drums…my favorite subject is history…I’d rather cook than bake…my signature drink is Jack Daniels and Coke…and the only Boss I will ever listen to is Bruce Springsteen.

Went to see Dr Ricci today. I was explaining to him that I wish I had him with me at Gillette the other day to take pictures of Bruce at the concert(like the ones he took of Lady GaGa). We were discussing my passion for Bruce (Gillette was show number 60 for me) and the fact that I have met him 4x and have got his autograph x3. I told him when I was in Buffalo in April he signed my sisters golf tournament tee shirt for me ( I lost my 49 year old sister to cancer in 2010 and we do a golf tournament in her honor each year to benefit the Jimmy Fund) We were discussing his marathon concerts and the excellent shape he is in and how talented he is. He told me about your blog and gave me a copy of the paper you sent him. I have not been able to read much yet but it is right up my alley. Any Bruce fan knows we have so many favorite songs (too many favorites to choose just one). It’s not just the songs but the favorite lines of the song “I want more than just a dream to tell” or ” is a dream a lie if it don’t come true or is it something worse!” There is noone else like Bruce. Can’t wait till Jersy in a couple of weeks. I’ll probably run into you some day!
