Life & Lyrics- “Janey, Don’t You Lose Heart”

“til every fear you’ve felt burst free

And gone tumblin’ down into the sea

Listen to me

Janey don’t you lose heart”

Janey, Don’t You Lose Heart

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band

Phase 2 of LeeLee’s Room is underway with big plans in the works. I’d like to think that  I’m working hard to make it all happen…fingers crossed.

But I have major anxiety! I mean MAAAAJOR anxiety…. Then again, of course I have major anxiety…I’m Italian!

Breathe…Lee Lee…breathe…

I’m incredibly motivated and ambitious but sooooooooo scared at the same time.  I hate the contradiction but it’s my reality. My self-doubt and self-sabotaging is out of control.  I hate that crazy feeling of wanting something to work out so badly yet the second-guessing and insecurity finds a way to haunt over and over again.

Breathe…Lee Lee…Breathe!

Thankfully, Bruce is helping me “get to that place” (lyric reference from Born to Run) with his music. Lee Lee’s Room is the perfect outlet and therapy!

Lee Lee, Don't You Lose Heart!!!!

Lee Lee,
Don’t You Lose Heart!!!!

Believe it or not… earlier this week I was listening to 80s on 8 on Sirius XM. I’ll confess that yes, I actually listen to something other than E Street Radio…sometimes.  While driving to a meeting regarding the future of Lee Lee’s Room, the 80s pop tunes brought me back to my childhood.  The hits were extremely stimulating and energizing too.  Not sure if the song selection was simply a coincidence or somehow the musical gods took control of the airwaves. It seemed as if the specific tunes playing were delivering a message…a message to me and only me!

Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey….and What a feeling by Irene Cara.

Coincidence or message??? I’d like to think Message.

Through Lee Lee’s Room I’m taking my passion and making it happen as Irene Cara so beautifully sings.  AND, I really need to squash the self doubt and believe in myself…thank you Journey for your amazing hit… Don’t Stop Believin’.

Breathe…Lee Lee…Breathe…you can do this!

The songs and the message sent my brain into roller coaster mode.  I started wondering what Bruce tune or Bruce lyric could relate to the moment.  Instantly I thought of…Janey, Don’t You Lose Heart. Instead of Janey …it’s Lee Lee Don’t You Lose Heart.

To me, that lyric defines this transitional and uncertain time.

Once again, I turn to Bruce for inspiration and motivation as LeeLee’s Room evolves…

“til every fear you’ve felt burst free

And gone tumblin’ down into the sea

Listen to me

Janey don’t you lose heart”

Great post! You and are on the same plane ride.

I’m so excited, motivated, and ambitious, like you, but scared as hell for the big change I’m making in my own life (opening the club). Waking up in the middle of the night thinking of all that can go wrong.

But you know, sometimes what holds us back (the fear) is simply the fear of change… The unknown. But this doesn’t mean change is bad. If we don’t allow change, nothing good can happen to us, either.

Be open to your life, the possibilities, and deal with what fears you only…ONLY… If it actually happens. But being afraid of things that only exist in your head is a waste of energy.

Can’t wait to hear about phase deux of LeeLees Room!!!!
